At Media West, we’re always exploring new tools that help us elevate the experience — for clients, crews, and audiences alike. One of the most exciting recent additions to our tech toolkit is the Pixelhue Q8, a next-generation screen management system that’s changing the game in large-format – high resolution content delivery.
For years, the Encore E2 system has been and still is the industry standard — it has served us well. But with the rapid shift from projection screens to ultra-high-res LED walls, and the growing demand for pixel-dense displays, the bar has been raised.
Enter the Q8. It allows us to drive more layers and outputs, all with higher resolution capabilities, with fewer processors, meaning we can deliver rich, high-quality visuals on massive screens without pushing hardware to the limit. What used to take four E2s, we can achieve with one Q8. Not to mention the ease of setup in comparison.
“The Q8 is a major leap forward for our team,” says Michael Kuntz, Media West’s CEO. “It gives us the firepower to handle today’s ultra-high-res LED demands without compromise — and makes our setups more efficient and flexible in the process.”
This upgrade reflects a broader industry shift toward systems that can handle dense pixel counts and multiple layers with ease. The Q8 answers that call — delivering greater control, fewer hardware components, and a cleaner workflow for powerful, streamlined productions that support compelling visual storytelling.
We’re proud to be early adopters — and even prouder to bring that edge to the work we do every day.
