In the live event world, project management goes far beyond checklists. It shapes every decision, timeline, and audience moment. From the first floor plan to the final truck pulling away, the entire show depends on someone who can see the big picture, master the smallest details, and understand every aspect of production — lighting, audio, staging, rigging, and more.
At Media West, our most experienced and trusted production manager is Dave Stipp.
For over 20 years, Dave has steered productions from concept to curtain call, coordinating teams, vendors, and venues to ensure seamless execution.
“When a job lands on my desk, that’s when it becomes real,” Dave says. “My job is to take what was promised and make sure it all comes to life — on time, on budget, and at the level our clients expect.”
Dave’s prep work includes:
- CAD diagrams
- Labor, vendor & equipment management
- Travel schedules
- Hotel coordination
By the time install day arrives, every detail is locked down so the crew can stay calm even when the unexpected happens.
His approach? Communicate. Plan. Stay in control.
Even after 25+ years, Dave loves the thrill of it all: “Every show is different. Every client is different. And I get to work with a team I trust.”
He also looks ahead, hoping to see more young and diverse talent step into these high-stakes roles: “We need more creative voices in project management. It’s challenging work, but one of the most rewarding jobs in live events.”
Because of people like Dave, Media West delivers unforgettable shows — Every. Single. Time.
